Dr. Samia Al-Amoudi graduated from the Second High School in Jeddah in 1975; entered the college of medicine in King Abdul Aziz (KAU) in Jeddah and graduated in 1981, obtained the Arab board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1987. The doctor was the head of her own medical centre, Dr. Samia Al-Amoudi medical centre, before she became active in the awareness of breast cancer field. She currently works as an Associate Professor at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah (KAU), as well as being the CEO of Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Al-Amoudi Center of Excellence in Breast Cancer. Dr. Al-Amoudi previously worked as the vice dean of the college of medicine and applied medical sciences in KAU. (King AbdulAziz University, 2011)
The globally acknowledged advocate is also a Member in BHGI steering committee, and supervisor of the scientific chair of breast cancer research at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.(King AbdulAziz University, 2011)
Dr. Al-Amoudi is a global public speaker interested in increasing the awareness of breast cancer; she has participated in several print, radio, and television programs, including CNN and ABC Good Morning America (Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Global, 2011). As well as this, she is a researcher, especially in Islamic medicine and medical ethics. She launched the website www.muslimdoctor.org in 2003.The website is concerned about the relationship between Islam and medicine, discussing Islamic perspectives in gynecology, Islamic work ethics that physicians should follow, and other medicine-Islam related topics.(King AbdulAziz University, 2011)
In addition, the doctor was an active writer in many different local newspapers and she also wrote a weekly column called (from reality) in Al-Madinah newspaper as well as being an author of 13 books about breast cancer. (Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Global, 2011)
